Getting Your First TattooÂ
Getting your first tattoo is exciting, but it can also come with a little bit of nerves. My goal is to make your experience feel comfortable, personal, and stress-free from start to finish. This guide will walk you through what to expect before, during, and after your first tattoo so you can feel prepared and confident throughout the process.
Why Choose Alabaster Ink For Your First Tattoo?
From the initial inquiry to the finished tattoo, you’ll have the time and space to ask questions, share your ideas, and feel confident in the process.
What to Consider Before Your Tattoo
Think about meaning, placement, and style before your appointment. Think about what you want your tattoo to represent, where you want it placed, and what style you’re drawn to. Include any inspiration, photos, sketches, or ideas in your inquiry form that help communicate your vision, even if you’re not sure exactly what you want yet. Your inquiry form is an important part of the process and gives me time to talk through your ideas, placement, sizing, and design. This is also your time to ask questions and bring up any concerns. My goal is for you to feel informed, comfortable, and confident before you get in the chair.
What to Expect on Tattoo Day
Come well-rested, hydrated, eat before, and wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. I’ll walk you through the process, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel comfortable throughout your appointment. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you need a break or have any questions. You can find more about preparing for your appointment here.
Aftercare: Looking After Your New Tattoo
Taking proper care of your tattoo is an important part of the healing process. Keep your tattoo clean, avoid soaking it in water, and do not pick or scratch it while it heals.
Healing times can vary, but most tattoos will have initial healing within a couple of weeks, with full healing taking longer. Follow the aftercare instructions provided here. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, don’t hesitate to reach out.
